PAOK faces Ajax in a clash from the third qualifying round of the Champions League

PAOK faces Ajax in a clash from the third qualifying round of the Champions League. Let’s examine this fixture on Greek soil in our soccer matches tomorrow.

Last season PAOK won the Greek league for a third time in their history and for a first time since 1985. This was a huge success for the club, because the fans were waiting for a long time to see something like this. They are living the dream, there’s no doubt about that. Sadly for PAOK, they didn’t have a lot of luck during the draw, because now they will have to face one of the strongest teams in Europe – Ajax.

Last season Ajax showed their strenght in Europe by reaching the 1/2-final of the competition. The manager Erik ten Hag did a terrific job, winning against teams like Real Madrid and Juventus in the knockout phase. The Dutch side almost reached the final in Madrid, but a late goal conceded against Tottenham killed the dream.

Of course, Ajax’s team was seriously weakened by the departures of two key players – Mathijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong. It’d be interesting to see if Erik ten Hag can find a way to replace these two stars.

The Greek Super League have still not begin, but Ajax already played their first game in the Eredivisie for the new season. The champions won only a point during the visit to Vitesse, though. The game in Arnhem ended with a 2-2 draw. Donny van de Beek and Dusan Tadic scored Ajax, but Bero and Bazoer’s goals for Vitesse won a point for the home side.

These are our soccer matches tomorrow for the Champions League qualification game between PAOK and Ajax on Tuesday. Ajax are the obvious favourite here, but pay attention to PAOK – they are the champion of Greece and they deserve respect for that.
